DESCRIPTION:January Business of the Month - HEB\n\n\n\nHEB was founded in 1905\, and since opening its doors\, it has remained steadfastly committed\n\nto helping make the lives of hard-working Texans better for almost 120 years. Established\n\nby Florence Thornton Butt in Kerrville\, Texas\, with a sixty-dollar loan and a prayer\, Mrs. C. C.\n\nButt's Staple and Fancy Grocery was opened on the ground floor of their family home. In 1919\,\n\nHoward Edward Butt took over operations\, and the company is still overseen by the Butt family\n\ntoday.\n\n\n\nJust 25 years later\, the Beeville H-E-B opened on June 15\, 1930\, and has proudly served this\n\ncommunity for 95 years. The original H-E-B Beeville location was closed in 1996\, with the\n\ncurrent location opening on October 4\, 1996. Since the opening of the new location\, the store has grown significantly\, including a pharmacy\, business center\, and gas station\, with its latest edition being the curbside department\, which opened on December 28\, 2018.\n\nThe Beeville H-E-B remains connected to its communities\, participating in events like the Martin Luther King Jr. Walk and volunteering with Beeville Independent School District\, Skidmore-\n\nTynan Independent School District\, the Beeville Police Department\, and local Veteran's groups.\n\nH-E-B continues to grow\, with more than 435 stores across Texas and Mexico\, employing more\n\nthan 160\,000 Partners and accumulating more than $43 billion in annual sales. A family business\n\nback then and today\, H-E-B strives to fight hunger\, provide disaster relief\, and honor Texas\n\neducators and our Nation's military. H-E-B firmly supports its motto of Texans helping Texans\n\nbecause H-E-B's Partners and customers are from here.\n\n\n\nThe Beeville H-E-B remains a prime example of what H-E-B has always stood for and continues\n\nto stand for\, and the H-E-B Partners look forward to serving this community.
