Lagarto Community Cook-Off

The Lagarto Community will be hosting its 2009 Country Cook-Off, an annual event benefitting HALO Flight on Saturday, March 7, 2009. The Lagarto Community Country Cook-Off will include an IBCA sanctioned(which has now been designated as a "State Championship" Cook=Off) and non-sanctioned cook-off competitions, live music, children's activities, parade, games, music and dancing, food, live auction, arts and crafts and a whole lot more for the entire family. There will also be a cook-off dance @ 8pm and a Calcutta beginning at 9:30pm, Friday night, March 6, on the cook-off grounds across from the Lagarto store. The funds generated from this event will support the life saving mission of HALO Flight, Inc., a non profit ambulance service. Since its inception, HALO-Flight has flown over 9,500 patients of accidents, heart attacks and strokes, newborns and many more who might not have survived otherwise. Emergency helicopter assistance is provided to all persons regardless of their ability to pay. HALO-Flight serves a 26-county area in South Texas covering over 28,000 square miles.
