MRSA Seminar--Sponsored by CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Beeville
CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Beeville will be hosting an educational seminar on MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus), known as the “super bug”. Attendees will include: local daycare providers, prison employees, school coaches, school administrators, school nurses and teachers. The seminar is Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Beeville in Conference Rooms B and C.
The goal of the seminar is to inform the audience about what MRSA is and to educate them on the steps to prevent it. The educators will:
- Define Community Acquired MRSA, Health-Care Acquired MRSA, and Nosocomial MRSA,
- Provide a list of Internet resources,
- Provide a list of local infection control network,
- Present nationwide benchmark rates, and
- Demonstrate ways to prevent the spread of MRSA.
